2nd Sept - Diego Villegas performs

Diego Villegas

2nd of September - as we start to think about Autumn the softest notes of flamenco will be heard at Bodegas Bentomiz.

Diego Villegas is a young but gifted musician who has already attained an international reputation. No wonder! He began classical guitar studies at the Conservatorio de Sanlúcar de Barrameda at just 8 years old! His sister being a flamenco dancer she also encouraged him in his passion for this expressive musical form.

Diego is a flautist and saxofonist, as well as using some wind instruments rarely seen in flamenco, such as the clarinet, the harmonica. He is a leading light in Flamenco-Jazz, while his first solo album, Bajo de la Guía, features along with flamenco, elements of jazz, bassa nova and latin-american rhythms. But flamenco remains his first love. He has shared the stage with dancers such as Antonio Fernandez ‘Farru’, Concha Jareño and Raquel Villegas; he has collaborates with artists such as Remedios Amaya, María Toledo, and Israel Suárez “Piranha”.

Guests at the concert will be able to refresh themselves before the performance, during the interval and after the second set, with the Ariyanas wines - white, rosé, and red - perhaps trying the new dulce vintage - available for this special occasion. The freshly made tapas, with vegetarian and vegan options, will include dishes like Ajo Blanco; new potatoes in spicy harissa sauce; carrillada, and lamb spare ribs.
